My coworker is applying for promotion and tenure at UTMB School of Nursing and is asking me to write a letter of support for her promotion to full professor and tenure.
Her practice is correctional health care that focuses on improving health care in underserved populations. She do this in a variety of ways: (1) She teach students through correctional clinical experiences, some of which she promote through proposed grant funding, (2) She has developed and am developing educational offerings for nurses who work in correctional settings or are interested in correctional nursing, (3) She have organized a group of nursing stakeholders to develop a UTMB SON correctional nursing certification program, (4) She sit on the national and globally well-known and respected National Commission on Correctional Health Care Board of Directors, and (5) She was an ANA Taskforce member for the development and revision of the correctional nursing standards.
