In this Graded Discussion (GD), please respond to these two prompts:
Briefly introduce yourself to your classmates and instructor: Tell us a bit about who you are and why you are taking this course.
What does “anthropology” mean to you? Do you know of any anthropologists or anthropological work? If so, briefly discuss what you know about them. It is okay if you do not know anything about anthropology (yet). If that’s the case, just write about what you think anthropologists do or study.
There are no right answers. This is a chance for you to discuss what you know about anthropology BEFORE taking this course. At the end of the course, you will revisit this post to see how much you’ve learned throughout the semester.
After you post your own response (200 words required), you will be able to view your classmates’ introductions and reply to TWO of them (50-100 words per reply).

Grading rubric for all GDs:
6 points = 200 words, answers ALL parts of the prompt in a clear, thoughtful, well-written manner

2 points = Less than 200 words, partial answer, AND unclear writing
0 points = Less than 100 words OR did not answer prompt
In addition, responses to TWO classmates’ posts are worth 2 points each. The responses must be 50-100 words and must show that you’ve read your classmate’s response and are reacting to it: Do you agree/disagree with your classmate’s post? Why? How would you clarify or expand his/her comments
