I’d love to hear your thoughts about the music and culture of the early 1960s, particularly what Douglas says about the impact on young women. We should also keep in mind that Douglas was writing in the mid-1990s, and she also focuses almost exclusively on white, straight, middle class Boomers – so how might we analyze her findings if we wanted to expand our vision of how this pop culture shaped all women’s lives?
