IN THIS MUSEUM VISIT PROJECT, YOU WILL BE EXPLORING A MUSEUM AND CONSIDERING HOW MYTHOLOGY IS TOLD THROUGH MORE THAN JUST A TEXT.
Requirements (make sure to read carefully and complete the entire assignment)
You can visit a physical museum or a virtual one.
There are many museums right nearby. Here is a https://dothebay.com/p/bay-area-free-museum-admiss… that lists all the free admission days for museums in the Bay Area.
For a virtual museum, you can choose from list List of Virtual Museums! This is a work in progress. As I find more museums, I add them to this list. If you know of a really amazing virtual tour for a museum that is not on this list, please let me know, and I will add it!! Enjoy exploring…
If you would like to visit a museum, but traveling isn’t a possibility, you can also visit our very own DVC Art GalleryBritish Museum, London

You will find 3 pieces of art that portray a myth
the myth can be Greco-Roman, Norse, Native American or something we haven’t yet studied. The myth can also be one we haven’t/won’t read
If you do use a myth from outside of this class, you must include a https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/m…
Your pieces of art should be from different myths.
The pieces of art you find must vary in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_art_media
For each museum/piece of art, you will do the following (please number in your project):Put the name of the artwork
Put the name of the museum you visited (1 sentence)
Embed an image of the piece of art you found into the document.
Provide a quick blurb: artist, date, medium (if available) (1 sentence)
Name the myth and the culture to which it is indigenous (1 sentence)
Give a brief summary of the myth (1-2 sentences)
Describe how the piece of art represents the myth, focusing on 1 or 2 specific aspects of the artwork (3-5 sentences)
Explain what this representation highlights, explains, and/or censors about the myth (3-5 sentences)
Ideally, you should find three pieces of art from the same museum; however, if you are only able to find one, you can visit another (whether physical or virtual is up to you).
