Strength of Evidence in Health Care Research

It is important to evaluate the strength of evidence in health care research because it reviews and encapsulates the findings (Berg et al., 2011). The strength of evidence in reviews is based off different aspects, directness, limitations, and biases that exist (Berg et al., 2011). Many decisions made in healthcare come from systematic reviews looking for new ways to solve problems. Systematic reviews are used to synthesize the information from different studies on similar topics to find interventions to certain questions asked by healthcare teams Berg et al., 2011). However, for these reviews to be helpful they must show strength of evidence backed up by data of different kind

For example, the chosen article outlined many questions regarding what types of interventions for cancer pain management. The article questioned which interventions showed the greatest results as well as covering the pros, cons, and alternatives. The questions were specific of key variables as well as the study population. They were placed in the theoretical framework as they cover a larger picture all together because the questions do not just look at a one-sided outcome but from all the angles. From there testing was completed and the data collected from the article consisted of percentages and p-values which displayed the overall results in such a large group (Bennett et al., 2018). A thorough descriptive analysis of each intervention was provided displaying the results of how each one managed cancer pains. Due to the nature and set up of the study it allows for strong evidence to be found and used. The article laid out each step of the study as well as the results and how they were found which leads to a strong paper with reliable information.
