Create a confidence interval for the mean score for each year. Use a 95% level of confidence. Clearly explain what the confidence intervals tell you about the overall mean test score. Does each confidence interval from each year include the population mean for all years? Explain why or why not.
The test scores dropped in 2009. Design and run a hypothesis test to determine if the decline represented a statistically significant decrease in the mean test score. Be sure to explain how you plan set up the test. Explain what claim you are testing. You will need to decide what you will use as your population. Be sure to explain the result and implications of the hypothesis test.

Finish with a concluding paragraph summarizing the main points from your project. Show your work for each part of the project separately. For the hypothesis tests this means writing out the steps of the Hypothesis test as given on page 406 in the text. You must state the null hypothesis H0 and alternative hypothesis H1 . You choose the level of significance for the tests. You can also choose whether to use the P-value method or Traditional Method for the hypothesis tests. If you do the work by hand, take a picture or scan it and upload it in the drop box with your paper. You can use technology to make the calculations, but I need to see the formulas you plugged in. The more work you can show and the more precise explanation you can give the better. You will be graded on completing each part of the project accurately, your explanations and descriiptions of the data, and your writing ability in your paper.
