To do this assignment you will need to research a topic that you like and find a relevant court decision about the case and write an analysis that includes both arguments from the writers of the majority and dissenting opinions. You will need to find the actual supreme court decision and read the actual supreme court case the opinion that the court made and any dissenting opinions and concurring opinions. Make sure you read these decisions and do not just read summaries of these opinions. You will need to cite and quote these decisions in your paper. You will not pass if you do not do this. You will need to examine the background of the case, briefly state its background and the facts of the case, and then see why the two people took opposite opinions on the issue. You will need to examine the legal arguments made by the different justices and determine which of the agreements you with agree and why you do so. Be sure to make this argument using the constitution and logically examining their opinions. Do not go into your own opinion here, base it completely on the court decision. What were some logical fallacies? What issues were raised that you hadn’t previously considered.
