This assignment is a reflection on a “coaching with compassion” session that I had with another student. The session was based on My Personal Vision (see attached). The session was designed to help me create a plan to achieve my hopes, dreams, and aspirations: my “ideal self.”
Instructions:
As the one being coached, take notes during your session with your coach. When the session is over, compose a 1,200 word current APA style paper on your experience. Describe what occurred during the session, what class concepts were used, your mood at the beginning, during, and after the session, and finally, what, if anything you expect will be the outcome of the session.
Details of the Session:
After introductions, my coach engaged in a series of well-thought-out questions designed to get me to open up about my dreams, ambitions, priorities, and motivators. The class concepts that were identified in the session were; Renewal, the Physiology of Emotional Intelligence, Intentional Change Theory, Ideal Self, Coaching with Compassion, and Mindfulness. My mood started off as a little guarded but I quickly became more comfortable opening up. In the end, I felt happy and confident.
