Mary is a 46 year old self-described Latina from Brooklyn, with roots in Puerto Rico.
Mary’s friend, Ray, suggested that she go to counseling because she is having a tough time with work and in her personal life.
Mary’s husband left her seven years ago, and she is seeing her friends and family less and less.
Mary reports she’s happy just staying at home with her fifth of vodka and watching TV until she falls asleep.
Mary says that she has gained 20 pounds over the last year from her drinking and inactivity, and just feels down most of the time.
Mary has missed work the last few weeks due to waking up hung over and drinking just to quote “get through the day.”
