Part 1: Engaging Parent/Carer Resource
As the learning enhancement teacher at an inclusive high school, develop a one-page (or equivalent) engaging resource to inform parents/carers about one aspect of transition planning (e.g., SET planning, QCIA, VET opportunities, transitions to postschool) for a small cohort of diverse learners (e.g., students with disability). The resource needs to be informed by relevant policy and literature to convey information to parents/carers in an engaging way, about senior secondary procedures, and practices suitable for your chosen cohort of diverse students. The resource does not need to include in-text references citations). Words should be kept to a minimum with a focus on conveying information visually and in an engaging way (max. 200 words).
The resource could be but is not limited to: A one-page brochure, a poster, one-slide PowerPoint, one-page newsletter, short video. The resource would be sent out to all parents/carers at the beginning of Year 10 or Year 11 – your choice).
Part 2: Rationale
An accompanying rationale, informed by relevant literature, will analyse and explain how and why your resource effectively informs parents/carers about your chosen focus area (e.g., students with disability). Your rationale should also focus on your approach (e.g., mode) and current evidence-based approaches to senior-schooling for your focus area and how this is evident in
your resource. In your rationale you will also briefly explain some of the contributions that learning enhancement teachers could make to the whole school with regards to supporting transitions for diverse students. Your rationale must include in-text references (citations) using APA 7th style. Approximately 800 words for the rationale section.
