Reflective Critical Analysis Instructions
The purpose of each RCA is to provide an in-depth exploration of your experience, and to demonstrate your professional growth, and ability to integrate evidence into practice using the Clinical Judgement Model. Please refer to Canvas for additional guidelines. The RCA structure and format is outlined in your course syllabus and the grading rubric is available in Appendix B of your Course Syllabus.
RCA #2 Focus Area
Social justice is a core value of community health nursing. Using the Clinical Judgement Model to structure your writing, critically analyze and discuss an experience that reflects social justice and the way your practicum site uses the principles of primary health care (at least one) to increase social justice in the population your organization serves.
RCA Structure and Format
RCA papers should be four to five pages, numbered and with a title page (not counted in the page count), using and referencing nursing literature, community health literature, RNAO best practice guidelines, CNO standards, and/or ways of knowing, and should include at least three scholarly, peer reviewed references (one of which is a research article). Other expectations include: proper use of language and grammar; well-organized and logical flow of ideas using the Clinical Judgement Model; clear transition between paragraphs; proper use of APA. The use of ‘I’ is acceptable in reflective scholarly nursing writing and will help to explore one’s own practice, ideas, new learning.
