MY CHOSEN TOPIC/Problem Statement
Research topic: Effective strategies to maintain emotional health for nurses
Problem statement: We must reduce the number of nurses leaving bedside nursing due to mental health issues, improve retention and follow through significantly to improve mental health resources for nurses.
I’ve chosen this topic because many nurses have left the profession attributed to burnout, and mental health issues. Thus, leaving an even larger need for nurses to care for the sick and dying, placing a greater strain on nurses and healthcare facilities. I believe that it’s meaningful in the field of nursing because it may not only highlight the shortcomings of health care facilities, but the nation as whole, regarding the resources that are available for nurses to safeguard their mental health.
