Organizational surveys usually fall into two broad formats: questionnaires or interviews. Typically, questionnaires involve a series of questions that respondents answer either on paper or electronically. Interviews are administered either face-to-face or via phone by an interviewer who records a respondent’s answers to a series of questions.
Regardless of the format, there are many types of organizational surveys. This week, prepare a chart in which you summarize at least five different kinds of organizational surveys.
You should include information on:
1) the survey strengths and weaknesses
2) the purpose of each survey
3) the survey format (e.g., open-ended questions, Likert scales etc)
4) the survey administration method (group or individual)
5) the survey mode (face to face, over the phone, Skype, paper/pencil, online, mail)
