ESSAY 3 – THE NARRATIVE ESSAY
Your final essay in class will be a personal narrative essay in which you will respond to this prompt:
″What is America to YOU? How do you feel about the country in which you live? Who ARE we, do you believe? Why and how did you come to this conclusion?″

This is NOT an opportunity for you to express platitudes (″a platitude is a trite, meaningless, or prosaic statement, often used as a thought-terminating cliché, aimed at quelling social, emotional, or cognitive unease. The statement may be true, but its meaning has been lost due to its excessive use″).
Examples:
″Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families in this difficult time″
″This is the greatest country in the world!″

We have been building up to this point all semester and now it is time for you to express your informed, thoughtful opinion utilizing ethos, logos, and especially pathos.
You will be writing a personal and desсrіptive non-fiction (something that is true) essay that focuses on your ability to articulate ideas and emotions in formal writing. What that means, simply, is that you follow the rules of grammar while trying to create feelings and images by using desсrіptive words.
