In this assignment, we will create a Mini UDL Lesson Plan! This will include:
<
1+ Differentiating method, 1+ Multidisciplinary Team Member, and 1+ Assistive Technology. Think about how these concepts are being applied in the selected students’ current education and how the application can be improved.
<
<
Choose your special student population:
<
Case study from EDUC 2301 textbook
<
Case study from Field Experience (observation)
<
<
Design a lesson on a specific topic for your population. Be specific on which aspect of UDL corresponds to which portion of your practice example.
<
EXAMPLE: The first phase is Multiple Means of Representation. Let’s say I’m discussing UDL with my college students. I would then provide various means to present the information which is appropriate for their age. I provide online videos with visual and audio, a selection of the book reading, a live explanation, group discussion, an example or demonstration, etc. Additionally, I’d be available to provide any one-on-one supportive instruction. If you were teaching a specific subject to school-age children, what topic would you like to teach (e.g. one-on-one correspondence). How would you teach it using UDL lessons?
<
<
Fill out the UDL Lesson Plan Template. (Read SAMPLE too!)
<
<
As part of your UDL plan, present at least two quotes (word for word) from at least two different sources listed below to further support your conclusion and denote understanding of inclusion. Indicate the source of each quote and in case of videos include the time in the timeline where we can find your quote (e.g. 1:45).
