From the situation on Slide 15 and 16 and 17 of the PPT located on the Communication and Critical Thinking Lesson Unit:
1. Utilizing the information found on Slide 15 only, Type up An SBAR that you would use in communicating this situation (you having to leave patient mid-exam) to a colleague.
List the SBAR Situation, Background, Assessment and Recommendation using complete sentences for what you would say for each of these items.
2. Utilizing the information found on Side 16, Write what you would say for an AIDET to a child. List at least one full sentences for each step, Use age specific terms to explain a renal sonography test to the child. ( What it is, and what is going to happen and what it for).
3. Utilizing the information found on Side 16, Write what you would say for an AIDET to the parent. List at least one full sentences for each of the steps. Use specific age related and targeted terms to explain a renal sonography test to the Parent. ( What it is, and what is going to happen and what it for). Target it to be what the parents concerns would be.
4. Using slide 17, write up what you would communicate to the Radiologist and provide a recommendation for what you think should occur for the best outcome for this child’s care. Include sonographic terminology, do not use SBAR or AIDET when speaking to a radiologist, you are giving your sonographic report and then a suggestion on follow up care.
To be awarded all the points you must describe the findings and have a clear recommendation that is appropriate.
