Discussion: Formulating Questions Based on Bloom’s Domains 7 7 unread replies. 7 7 replies. Review the Metacognition Lesson and Bloom’s Taxonomy Lesson. Read the following speech: Steve Job’s “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.” Links to an external site. PART 1: DUE THURSDAY Imagine that you are a college professor, and you want your students to think about this speech on various cognitive levels (using multiple levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy). Compose three questions on different levels of Bloom’s taxonomy about the story and post them in a Reply to this discussion. Feel free to use the chart on the Bloom’s Taxonomy page to formulate your two questions. Your questions should address the following guidelines: Create one question about the story so that your students are thinking in one of the bottom two domains (remembering or understanding). What kinds of questions could you ask to help students prove they remember things about the speech or understand things about the speech? Create another question that has your students thinking in one of the middle two domains (applying or analyzing). What kinds of questions could you ask to help students apply what they learned from the speech or analyze the speech?’ Create a final question that has your students thinking in one of the top two domains (evaluating or creating). What kinds of questions could ask to help students evaluate the speech or create something based on the speech? Now, shuffle the order of your questions; move them around so that they are not in the same order as listed above. DON’T REVEAL COGNITIVE LEVEL OF YOUR THREE QUESTIONS IN YOUR POST. Let responders try to figure them out. PART 2: DUE FRIDAY Respond to two other posts, answering which domain each of the two questions is on and why you think so. Choose posts that have not been responded to whenever possible. Feel free to agree with or disagree (politely) with a previous responder’s answers if all posts have been responded to.
