The board has completed the review of your study using the attached form. The comments in the yellow column (column B) describe the revisions and clarifications needed to ensure the study meets the university’s ethical standards. When you submit your updated materials, please use the blue column (column C) to respond to each piece of the feedback presented. Be sure these updates are completed with the input and approval of the supervising faculty member. Please do not modify or remove any of the board’s comments. If you need to make any revisions to the information you initially provided in the brown column (column A), please rewrite your new response in the blue column (column C) so that your original response can be referenced. Please also resubmit any attachments/forms in which revisions were required.
Please note that the purpose of the board’s review is to protect research participants and stakeholders by weighing the study’s risks against its benefits. The IRB reviewers strive to limit their methodological comments to only those that impact either the risk or benefit level of the study, thus affecting the welfare of participants and stakeholders.
Your current materials and a copy of this message will be placed in the IRB’s files pending receipt of the information described above. When the information/materials requested have been reviewed you will be notified of either approval or a request for additional information.
