Choose a religion outside of the 5 major world religions, which we have already discussed. Your task is to research how this religion is practiced in Canada or the USA and make a connection between how this religion affects the culture of it’s community.
For example, we have already referred to the cultural differences we see among mennonite communities in North America. That is, although we all live in a simliar geographic and political environment, differences in religion result in differences in clothing, language, food that is eaten, daily behaviours, etc.

1. For your religion, consider how daily life is affected:

• Gender roles/age roles (3 marks)
2. How does this religion fit in with/affect Canadian or USA culture?
How has Canada/US society made changes to accommodate this culture? (i.e., Toronto District School Board must now provide Halal and Kosher foods in its cafeterias to accommodate staff and students of different religions) (5 marks)
Are any religious beliefs/practices in conflict with what Canadian/US culture allows/promotes (i.e., Mormons and polygamy)? If so, how does the religious group deal with this? (5 marks)
Present your research in an interesting and engaging format. You may wish to create a powerpoint, Prezi, moviemaker, YouTube video, linoit/padlet bulletin board, etc. Include images and short video clips if you like (you can use “Tubechop” to take small clips from a youtube video).
Your presentation should answer all of the above questions/criteria
