1. Describe the entire process in a way that if a third person reads the description they can
easily plot the value stream map;
2. Plot the value stream map for the business process;
3. Identify and explain improvement opportunities within the business process;
4. Plot the value stream map after implementation of improvement opportunities;
5. Receive the feedback from two professionals on your answers to numbers 1 to 4 above. Each
student should identify and contact two professionals in the field of interests who are high
caliber/leaders from federal/provincial government and/or for-profit/not-for-profit company
(priority should be given to the professionals in Canada, especially in the Province of British
Columbia), who will provide you with their feedback about your answers to numbers 1 to
4 above which you can directly/indirectly incorporate in your case study. The form, which
needs to be filled by the professionals, is in Appendix 1.1. Appendix 1.2 includes a sample
email template for the communication. As you can see in the template you need to submit
your answers to numbers 1 to 4 above along with your email that would allow them to have a
better understanding of your case study and accordingly can provide you with their feedback.
