As discussed throughout this course, building relationships, making connections with other agencies and professionals, and securing outside referrals for clients are all part of a case manager’s role in helping clients improve the overall quality of their lives. To accomplish these tasks, collaboration is key.
Assuming the role of a future case manager, develop your collaborative network. Describe what personal approaches, professional activities, and networking strategies you will use in your collaborative network. In addition, discuss how inter-organizational collaboration benefits both the client and the case manager. Complete your assignment by including a list of 5 local resources (in your community) you believe will be the best resources to start your collaborative network. Include a brief description of each resource/agency, contact information, and website, what services are offered, and what populations the agency serves.

HOW TO WORK ON THIS ASSIGNMENT (EXAMPLE ESSAY / DRAFT)

I would use personal methods, professional endeavors, and networking techniques as a case manager in the future to expand my network of collaborators. I would start by building relationships on a personal level by taking part in activities that interest me, volunteering, and attending community events. This would make it easier for me to build relationships with local people and organizations and gain their trust. Second, I would participate in professional activities to advance my knowledge and abilities, such as joining professional associations, going to conferences, and taking training courses. This would enable me to stay current with industry changes and best practices. Last but not least, I would use networking techniques like social media, email marketing, and organizing events to advertise my services and build relationships with possible partners.

Collaboration across organizations has various advantages for both the case manager and the clients. In the beginning, it gives access to a broader variety of resources and knowledge, which raises the standard of care for patients. Second, it helps to avoid service duplication, lower costs, and boost efficiency. Thirdly, cooperation improves accountability and transparency among stakeholders by creating a sense of shared responsibility.
