Go Statistics Homework 1 & 2
Statistics HW1 instructions
Follow the instructions below to complete the first statistics homework for one-way and 2-way ANOVA.
You WILL need to dowload jomovi
1. Download the data set “Psy274 – DES data.omv Download Psy274 – DES data.omv set” and open it in JAMOVI.
2. Select “ANOVA” in JAMOVI
Test the hypothesis that hair color will predict level of extroversion. Copy and paste your output table for both the means and the ANOVA into a word document. State the null and alternative hypotheses and state whether the data indicates supporting or rejecting the null hypothesis.
3. Two-way ANOVA in JAMOVI
a) test the hypothesis that whether you ate breakfast or not and whether you are a morning person predicts either your positive or negative mood level. Copy and paste your output table for both the between-subjects effects along with your estimated marginal means (for both your main effects and your interaction).
b) test another hypothesis using two variables from the data file and copy and paste the same information as above.
c) Finally, look at your results for both hypotheses (a&b above); are there any significant main effects or interactions present? If so, report the specific p-values.
4. EXTRA CREDIT (up to 4 points): Using Excel, create bar graphs of the means of two of the three analyses (the one-way ANOVA and one of the two 2-way ANOVAS). For the 2-way ANOVAS, use the estimated marginal means from the interaction between the two variables (you’ll need to check that box in Jamovi). You should create 2 separate graphs altogether, and each graph would be worth 2 points extra credit. All graphs can be copied and pasted into the same word document you used for the rest of the homework.

Statistics HW 2 instructions
Follow the instructions below to complete the second statistics homework for repeated measures ANOVA. For this homework, you are testing the hypothesis that hearing noise will impact performance on a test.
1. Download the data set “Psy274 – noise data.omv Download Psy274 – noise data.omvLinks to an external site.” and open it in JAMOVI.
2. Repeated measures ANOVA
a) run a repeated measures ANOVA in order to test whether there was a difference between the 1st sound tests (none vs. low vs. med vs. high) on test performance. – report the p-value for the within-subjects effect
b) run a repeated measures ANOVA in order to test whether there was a difference between the 2nd sound tests (none vs. low vs. med. vs high) on test performance – report the p-value for the within-subjects effect
3. Create four new variables by computing an average performance score for each of the sound conditions (none1/none2; low1/low2; etc.)
a) Run a repeated measures ANOVA in order to test whether there was a difference between all four of the new variables – report the p-value for the within-subjects effect
b) Graph the 4 performance means using Excel and paste your graph into your word document
c) Which sound experience seems to show the biggest difference?
