I have already written a partial rough publish for this essay. I need you to review it, edit it if needed, and finish it for the final paper. I will include my professors requirements below and will attach a scan of the essay that is being responded to as well as a copy of my partial rough publish.
PROFESSORS INSTRUCTIONS:
3. Here is the rubric for the assignment (how you’ll be graded):
Purpose: Is the essay a response to the reading and not just an argumentative essay on the issue? Is the essay written at an academic level (avoids conversational language like “you,” jargon, slang, etc.)? Is the essay more analytical and not just summary?
Content: Is the essay at least 2-3 pages double-spaced with no plagiarized content? Does the essay have a clear thesis that states agreement or disagreement with the text? Does the essay have 2-3 supporting points from the reading? Does the essay offer enough critical thinking? Does the essay lead with the rhetorical situation of the reading?
Organization: Does the essay have a clear Introduction with Thesis, Body with 2-3 paragraphs, and Conclusion? Does the essay have transitional language to connect points?
Formatting: Does the essay use correct MLA formatting for the heading, page numbers, spacing, font, and margins?
Proofreading and Professionalism: Does the essay use correct grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and other conventions? Is it clear the writer took time to proofread to fix typos and other errors?
4. Add a Work Cited page as the last page of the essay to cite the reading you chose. Use Formula #19 on page 592 of your book (a selection in an anthology):
Author’s Last Name, First Name. “Title of Work.” Title of Anthology, edited by First and Last Names, Publisher, Year of publication, Pages.
Sample:
Achebe, Chinua. “Uncle Ben’s Choice.” The Seagull Reader: Literature, edited by Joseph Kelly, W. W. Norton, 2005, pp. 23–27.
NOTE: DO NOT UNDERLINE YOUR ENTRY. The author would be the author of the reading and the anthology title would be the Norton Field Guide to Writing with Readings, 6th ed. The editors would be Richard Bullock, Deborah Bertsch, and Maureen Daly Goggin.
Use the rubric as a final checklist to ensure you are following all instructions and writing the essay to the best of your ability.
Submit by midnight, Sunday, February 5.
