What do you believe is the role of a project manager? Share your own project management experience in your specialization. Given what you know about a project manager’s personal competencies for leading and managing a diverse and inclusive project team, compile your own personal list of qualities and skills you believe a competent and highly skilled project manager should possess. Does your organization (or one you’re familiar with) have a formal project management processes, a formal management process, or a formal portfolio management process? If so, what is it?
If you have experience leading a virtual team, and perhaps a multicultural virtual team, how does your role change as the project manager? Why is this relevant? Which of your personal qualities and skills become more critical, or less critical, in effectively leading a successful project?
If you have agile project experience, discuss how the project management role differs and the key qualities and characteristics you’ve found to be critical for agile leadership and successful project completion.
