Are you proposing a positivistic, quantitative approach/method or an interpretive, qualitative approach/method or a mixed-methods approach method (this could be positivistic/quantitative in one phase of data collection and interpretive/qualitative in another phase)?

1. Do not purposely start a new page for this section. Type the word Design flush with the left margin and italicize it. On the next line, begin typing normal paragraphs.
2. List and describe your Research Design in detail (What type of design— experimental, quasi-experimental, non-experimental? What is the timeframe for the study— cross-sectional vs. longitudinal?). You should describe justifications for why this design is appropriate and feasible to study your research question.
3. List and describe your Research Methodologies in very specific detail. Are you proposing a positivistic, quantitative approach/method or an interpretive, qualitative approach/method or a mixed-methods approach method (this could be positivistic/quantitative in one phase of data collection and interpretive/qualitative in another phase)? You should describe justifications for why this method(s) is appropriate and feasible to study your research question.
4 .Describe the design and clearly spell out the independent and dependent variables. Indicate what the levels of the independent variables were, and whether the factor(s) are repeated, matched, or independent.
5. Describe how the subjects will be assigned to groups if applicable.
6. Describe any control procedures to be used if applicable.
Participants
1. This section is labeled as subjects or participants depending on whether animals or humans are used in the study. If animals are used, use the term subjects. If humans are used, use the term participants.
2. Do not purposely start a new page for this section. Type the appropriate title for this subsection flush with the left margin and italicize it. On the next line, begin typing normal paragraphs.
3. What are your inclusion and exclusion criteria for the study? (Who can participate and who cannot?)
4. How many participants are you planning on recruiting?
5. How will you obtain the participants for your sample? (Where and how will you recruit them? Stores? Hospitals? Schools? House to house surveying? Flyers? E-mails?)
6. How will you consent or assent participants?
7. Under what conditions will participants interact with the study? (Are they participating at school, home, clinic, online, etc.)
8. Include any details which are relevant to the study. Include the gender, age, race/ethnicity, and, when appropriate, the socioeconomic status, disability status, sexual orientation, etc. What type of reward or motivation will be used to encourage them to participate?
