Purpose: The purpose of this screencast is to bring some of your previous work together into a clearer and more refined presentation of your position in the “Here I Stand” projects. Knowledge – and belief – is refined. You’ve engaged in that refining process; this project will give you an opportunity to demonstrate that refinement. This assignment carries the greatest number of points because it is a summative assessment of your learning in the course.
Instructions: In your Week 3 assignment, you did a video and a transcript called “Here I Stand.” In your Week 5 assignment called “Here They Stand”, you wrote a paper where you worked to make the opposing argument. In this screencast, you will combine these into one refined screencast presentation.
Present a PowerPoint presentation based upon the following outline:
Introduction: Draw your audience into your presentation
Thesis: Make clear what your stance on the issue is
Evidence: Provide justification for your thesis
Objections: Make the opposing argument and provide justification for those objections
Conclusion: Bring your essay to a logical conclusion.
Your screencast should be between 10-12 minutes in length. You must use at least 10, and not more than 14, slides (include a Title and Reference slide – these are included in your total slide length). Use the course library portal (Links to an external site.) as a resource for your content.
Technology: For help on creating a screencast, review this page: Creating a Screencast.
Sources: be sure to cite your sources using the APA citation style. You should use between 3-6 sources (beyond your textbook). This assignment is comprehensive and serves in place of a comprehensive exam, so be sure to reference details discussed throughout the course.
