Multicultural education provides a mechanism to address the needs of diverse learners. What are the characteristics of multicultural education? How can they be applied in the modern context?
In a written paper (minimum 3 pages) you will identify key characteristics of multicultural education and develop the syllabus of a multidisciplinary course (either for a school or professional development course at your organization) to illustrate your understanding of multicultural education. Follow the steps below to create your final product.
Step 1. Identify
According to the assigned readings and your own understandings, identify key characteristics of multicultural education in your own words.
Step 2. Create
Create a syllabus for a two-module multidisciplinary course (grade level and course topic of your choice; at least two disciplines), or a professional development course for your organization that demonstrates your understandings of the values, concepts, characteristics, challenges and opportunities associated with multicultural education.
The syllabus should include a minimum of the following components: (a) learning objectives/outcomes, (b) module titles, grading scale, assessments, and course readings. Include the syllabus within your paper.
Step 3. Cite
Use APA format for in-text citations and references. Reference at least three scholarly articles.
