The Linear Regression Assignment will be graded on accurately completing a linear regression using a specified data source. In addition to this, students are expected to analyze the results of the data, correctly report this information, and speak of the significance of their findings in terms of public health. The quality of self-assessment, use of citations, use of Standard English grammar, sentence structure, and overall organization are based on the required components as summarized in the directions and grading criteria/rubric.
Create your product using Microsoft Word, which is the required format for this assignment. Place output from SPSS into this word document as an appendix.

Linear regression is used to model or predict unknown outcomes based on relationships between independent and dependent variables. Simple linear regression allows us to look at the linear relationship between one normally distributed interval predictor and one normally distributed interval outcome variable.
You will complete a Linear Regression analysis for this assignment using the data set provided. (The data set is attached to this email)
Evaluate birthweight as an outcome using maternal age as the independent predictor variable using linear regression. explain whether higher or lower maternal ages predicted low birth weight based on the outcomes predicted.
You will include a narrative that includes possible hypotheses and null hypotheses, an explanation of the relationship between the variables, and report the important results in APA format.
Introduction
This should introduce basic concepts of Linear Regression and the use of it in statistics. It should also consist of the purpose of the paper.
Narrative
The narrative is a place for you to discuss the methods used and why this test is the appropriate test for the variables. You should also include a description of the variables, a description of the data set and any other important information that will help frame your test findings in APA format.
Results
You will report the results you get, possible hypotheses, and if you have a statistically significant result. State whether you accepted or rejected your hypotheses. Your book is a good resource for how to report findings in APA format, as they are specific for each test.
SPPS Print out
Please provide the SPSS printout from the test you completed as an appendix to the paper. This should include everything from the printout page after the test is completed.
