The work is based on chapters 1-4 from “Give me Liberty, Vol I” by Eric Foner (Please see the attached)
1. Discuss the formation of 2 to 4 of the Original 13 English Colonies as discussed. Describe who
came to form them, what their purpose was, and of the troubles they had forming the colony, if
any. Be as specific as possible. Who were the key people involved in the Colonies you selected
to write about?
2. Native Americans, incorrectly described as “Indians”, were the first real “Americans”. Discuss
the problems associated with the coming of the European to their land. Try to imagine yourself
as Iroquois, Mohawk, Ojibwa, Narragansett, etc; and describe your feelings towards the
Europeans from the Native American point of view. Be imaginative but try to be as specific as
possible.
