Using one of the versions of Freytag’s Pyramid that can be found in the A Doll House Module of Canvas, for this week’s Discussion in a minimum 200 words share: Which character’s play is this, and how does that either coincide with or work against Freytag’s Pyramid as a structural model of the play? Choose one major character to discuss (Nora, Torvald, Dr. Rank, Krogstad, Mrs. Linde) — does their trajectory coincide with this structural model? OR – does another character’s trajectory coincide better with Freytag? What might Ibsen be doing structurally to utilize OR subvert the “well-made play” with this character’s journey? Be sure to indicate in your write-up what moments in that character’s journey correspond (or not) to the points on Freytag’s Pyramid (Exposition, Inciting Incident, Rising Action, Crisis, Climax, Resolution, etc.). Why might it be important to see the not just the play’s structure in relation to Freytag — but the journey of individual characters in the play as well? What might it say about the play overall?
