2. Your paper will explain the historical significance of a single jazz figure, or album of
your choosing. Ideas to consider are major innovations made by the person or album;
how the musicians came together for the album and/or where they went next in their
respective careers; influences the person or album had on other jazz
musicians/groups/recordings; influences it had on other art forms, etc.
3. When submitting your research paper, you must include a full bibliography, properly
citing all (at least five) sources used. These sources cannot be entirely electronic/webbased. At least one must be a book, journal, etc.
4. Please cite sources properly and be sure to also cite recordings and other audio/visual
materials you may use.
