Week 8 – Assignment: Signature Assignment: Design and Facilitate the Development of New Statewide Program Initiatives
Instructions
As a state government employee and coordinator, you are tasked with consolidating state resources in an effort to reduce cost across various state government programs. Write a paper explaining your efforts to consolidate resources in the state where you currently reside. Be sure your paper includes the following:
Examine the executive branch of your state government, identify two agencies to merge, and then explain your rationale.
Consider the two agencies that merged, and then identify the roles you would assign to each executive leader.
Determine who would be in charge of the newly merged agency.
Identify a new name for the merged agency.
Determine if you would eliminate any role or area of responsibility.
Assess whether there would be a reduction in the workforce.
Create a policy memorandum for presentation to the legislative and judicial branches of your state regarding your intended changes.
Recommend a timeline for implementation.
Length: 12-15 pages, not including title and reference pages
References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources.
Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
