Using specific examples from the two novels we have read thus far, Homegoing and Middle Passage, describe how the individual writers, Yaa Gyasi and Charles Johnson, handle the subject of slavery and the evolution of African-American identity. Identify and analyze five key issues raised by these novels in a comparative way.
