Topic: Preferably (while not mandatorily) based on Assignment 1, students are required to report a survey study that they conducted. The report should feature the analyses, details about the administration of the survey, and the key findings. The survey questionnaires utilized can be either i) chosen from (and/or modified based upon) some existing, validated instruments [e.g., Davis’s (1980) Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI)], or ii) self-developed with reference to the literature and/or the objective of your study. You are strongly recommended to consult your lecturer about the survey items prior to the administration of the study. The report should include the following sub-sections:
1. Brief recap and overview of the research question(s) and hypothesis(es) of the survey study
2. Method
i) Participants (Specify your population, sampling method and sample size)
ii) Instrument [Specify (and possibly, justify) details of tool(s) used. In particular,
compute and accordingly report the reliability indices of the scale(s) adopted with
your sample]
iii) Procedure (Detail the process of the data collection, including ethical
considerations)
3. Results
i) Descriptive Statistics
ii) Inferential Statistics
4. Discussion
i) Summarize the results succinctly
ii) Evaluate the results you got compared to the research question(s) or hypotheses
you began with. How do the data answer your questions?
5. List of references of cited literature (not in word count; be consistent with the in-text
citation)
6. Appendices (not in word count), e.g., questionnaires and/ or psychological scales
