This will be a comparative paper in which you examine two primary sources: Judith and Beowulf. However, you must incorporate at least one secondary source and find points in it with which you disagree. Engage with the analysis of another scholar and compose your own unique argument. Be as explicit as possible about how your own argument differs from the views of
another scholar. This assignment is designed to promote engagement with the scholarly conversation about a text(s).
As you argue, make sure that you describe the text accurately, land interpret textual evidence closely. Avoid speculation and sweeping generalities. The paper should show how your
