This essay is an argument essay that will focus on Cora, the main character in the novel The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead.
Topic: Essay 3: The Hero’s Journey
Joseph Campbell theorizes that throughout history, all heroes in literature undergo stages in their journeys and have factors that determine whether they succeed or fail. Overall, do you believe Cora succeeded in her quest? State your position on this question, and identify three factors in Cora’s journey that were the most critical in terms of her success or failure.

In this essay, the topic is Cora.
Your position is whether you think Cora succeeded or not.
Your reasons are the factors that affected her success/failure.
