This assignment will be to write a position paper in relation to the presentation by Steve Nelson, retired CEO of UnitedHealthcare, at the Miami Herbert Business School in March 2019. His presentation titled, Making Health Care Work Better – For Everyone, addressed transformation in healthcare. Steve Nelson discussed three ways UnitedHealthcare is approaching transformation, specifically: 1. Simplifying and personalizing the patient experience 2. Modernizing the approach to the delivery system 3. Redefining access The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has disrupted the way patients engage with the health care system. This experience has drawn even closer attention to personalized health care, the need to reconfigure delivery models, and barriers to access that Steve Nelson speaks to. It also presents an unparalleled opportunity for innovation.
