1) In this assignment, you are learning about drugs affecting the autonomic nervous system. “The sympathetic nervous system is the counterpart of the parasympathetic nervous system; together, they make up the autonomic nervous system. They provide a checks-and-balances system for maintaining the normal homeostasis of the autonomic function of the human body” (Lilley, et al., 2020, p. 289). There are several different categories of drugs that are classified in this group: Adrenergic Drugs, Adrenergic-Blocking drugs, Cholinergic Drugs, and Cholinergic-Blocking Drugs.
Because each category has different functions, patient teaching to encompass patient-centered care will be specific to each category. Please select one category of drugs in this module and describe in 150-200 words in your initial post what you would teach the patient. Please use APA format to cite your textbook and at least one peer-reviewed journal to support your information. Your journal should not be older than 2015.
