The reaction papers can be about any public speaking event that you attend or are a part of at any point this semester. A public speaking event can be defined as a formal or informal presentation of a verbal message at least 2 minutes in length, that is delivered by one person to a group of at least 3 people in a physical or virtual setting. This can include (but isn’t limited to) work meetings or training, church, social groups (sports teams, clubs, common interest groups, etc.), special events like graduations, banquets, weddings, holiday parties, etc.
Write a 1-2 page reaction paper about the public speaking event. Discuss the event (what it was, why it occurred, who attended, etc.), the type of speech you observed (you can view types of speeches in your textbook pages 210-320..you may need to read ahead), your reaction to listening to that speech or presentation (was it good or bad, strengths and weaknesses of the speaker, etc). Highlight elements from your textbook and cite appropriately.
