The purpose of this assignment is to apply your knowledge to a previously completed evaluation and assess the features described in a peer-reviewed article on a topic of your choice.
Locate a primary, peer-reviewed article on an evaluation of a health topic of your choice. You can simply search PubMed for the health topic and the word “evaluation”. Should you have trouble locating an article, or if you are unsure if your article is appropriate, please contact the instructor. Download and save a pdf copy of your article. Format a correct APA citation for the article and put it at the top (not in the header) of the word document.
Read the article and answer the following questions:
What stages of evaluation were utilized and are described in the article and what is the main stage (e.g., formative evaluation/needs assessment, process evaluation, impact/outcome evaluation?
Are the objectives clearly stated? What are they?
Is there a theoretical framework guiding the intervention and evaluation? If so, what is it and how is it used? If not, what framework would you suggest?
What type of evaluation design was employed? (Ex: Describe the control and intervention groups; what data were collected; what was compared.)
What were the results of the evaluation?
Based on the findings of the evaluation, what were the recommendations for action?
Do you agree with these recommendations? Why or why not?
