The Professor approved the proposal I submitted. Thus, we need to build on it if it is something you can do. Read her comment:
This is a good overview/introduction for your final paper (16). The topic is clearly defined and you do a nice job of summarizing why the topic is of importance. For the final paper, I’d like to see you review 20 or more articles that examine the relationship between urban green space and psychological and physical health of residents. In addition to summarizing the research findings, this review should also identify (1) the various research designs used (i.e. quantitative vs. community-based, semi-experimental/experimental, etc.) to answer the question, (2) how green space is conceptualized, defined and operationalized, (3) how psychological and physical health is conceptualized and operationalized, (4) what data (both dependent and independent variables) has been collected from where/who and how, and (5) spatial and policy context of existing research (in what geographic location and scope has research on this topic been conducted). Excel can be a good way to organize the information (and you can build on the file as you work toward your dissertation). Your paper should conclude with a summary of the state of the knowledge on this topic (what do we know, what do we know that we don’t know, what might we not know/not be considering) and a paragraph or two about how you might approach this topic in your own research/ key questions you want to answer about this topic going forward. You are allowed to utilize ArcGIS or Urban Footprint to complete the analysis.
