The paper must be times new Romans, double spaced, size 12 font with 1-inch margins on each side. Use the APA, 6th edition for format and citations. Please remember that while a title page and bibliography page are required, they do not count towards the total number of pages for research. Only the content counts towards the page requirement.The minimum requirement for reference material is eight sources (maximum of two from the internet), with at least two citations per source. One paper is required for this course, covering the topic of the Hebraic Covenant. The paper should follow the following format:
Introduction (one paragraph), Part I: The Nature of Covenants (approximately half of the paper)The student will describe the different types of covenants (citing examples) and their meaning for the individuals/peoples involved. It should also include the benefits and requirements (if any) for the participants.
The focus of Part I should be on God’scovenant with Abraham and the one with the Hebrews at Sinai, but this should not be the sole focus of this section.
Part II: The Application of the Covenant (the second half of the paper)The paper will need to discuss the application and ramifications of the covenant relationship of the Hebrews with God throughout their history from the conquest of Canaan under Joshua through the Exile into Babylon. Consideration should also be given to how the history of the Israelites reflects the warning issued by Moses in Deuteronomy 28.
Conclusion (one paragraph)For this type of paper,students will need to consult commentaries, bible dictionaries, journal articles,and other sources to guide the study. Extensive quotations from the biblical text are not necessary—briefly summarize and cite the passage(s) in scripture. Sources must be representative of substantial academic work (i.e., “Wikipedia” and lay-study Bible sites are NOT acceptable).
