The objectives of this paper are to:
Describe a clinical practice problem.
Locate and evaluate research studies relevant to the clinical practice problem.
Present the clinical problem, relevant literature, critical analysis and synthesis of the evidence, and recommendations for best practices
Directions for Completing your Scholarly Paper:
1. Reflect on current practice to identify and investigate a nursing problem or clinical question related to patient safety, quality, or satisfaction. (PICOT Question)
2. After formulating a clinical question, conduct a search of the nursing and health care literature to find relevant research studies from scholarly, peer-reviewed journals.
Select FOUR studies, that should be original research with an emphasis on nursing practice for critique.
Integrative or systematic reviews or studies from the literature of another discipline may be used with the approval of the instructor
3. Appraise the studies, make a determination regarding the value of the studies in directing health care decisions or in understanding human responses in health and illness
4. Present and summarize your research findings in an 8-10 page paper (not including title page and references):
Introduction: Provide an introduction to the clinical problem and PICOT question
Methods: Describe how you found your articles, what databases and key words used and explain your process
Results: Describe your articles and how you came to the determination they were of good high quality evidence
Discussion: Synthesize the evidence and provide an analysis of what all the articles say collectively and make a recommendation for an evidence-based practice change based on your literature synthesis.
Conclusion: Provide a conclusion about the findings. No NEW infomation should be in your conclusion.
All papers should be written following APA 7th edition guidelines.
