The foundation of your future studies will be the ability to critically evaluate information and write and review literature concisely. To practice this skill, students will be required to complete a critical evaluation of a health topic that was presented in the news.
First, find, cite and briefly summarize a news article including any research it references. Then, critically evaluate the article comparing its claims and conclusions with research from the literature. The evaluation should compare at least 2 primary source research articles with the news article. For each article, you should include a complete citation (APA 7th edition), a brief summary of the main purpose/objectives of the study, and a critical assessment of the contributions of each article to the topic at hand. Finally, compare and contrast the news media article with what you have learned from the literature.
Maximum length is 2 pages, double spaced, size 12 font with references on the 3rd page.
