The final project is a change intervention project completed by your learning team (size and composition to be determined in class). For this project consider yourselves change agents and the organization you will choose to be your proposed client. You will select your change project by surveying current and recent credible news media, newspaper articles, news outlets, aggregated news sources, The Economist, etc. From those sources and with your team, you will select a company that presents a case for needed change. The “presenting problem” or needed change can be related to any part of the company and must be clearly defined and supported by at least one of your surveyed sources. You team will then conduct in- depth research regarding the company via other news sources, case studies, company website information, etc. Applying course content, discussions, presentations and outside research, you will create a change project plan for the company chosen.
Before Session 3 , please submit your Group Project Proposal paper of 400-750 words giving the following:
1. A brief description and history of the organization and department/unit.
2. A description of the presenting problem, including any information you have on its background. Remember that this is the presenting problem and will most likely be only a symptom of the underlying issues, which your group will endeavor to uncover with your research.
3. The needs of both client and change agent. Remember that both the client and the consultants have needs that might not be apparent. For example, the client might have a need for confidentiality or a need to look good in front of his/her superiors or subordinates. The consultant might have a need for open access to information and people or a need to be kept “in the loop” by the client.
