Students will work individually to create a small-scale research proposal of approximately 3,000 to 4000 words as per the guidelines/template that will be provided to you.
The proposal will not be implemented. The proposal must be supported with required readings and outside readings to support methodological choices and arguments. The report needs to be formatted according to the APA style (latest edition). The proposal will cover the following components which work as a structure to organize the proposal. However, the proposal will be assessed in its totality and awarded an overall mark.
Part 1: Introduction
▪ Title
▪ Abstract
▪ Table of Contents
▪ Introduction: Research problem, research questions or hypotheses
▪ Significance of the study
▪ Brief literature review to support the research questions/ or hypotheses (at least 10 relevant
and recently published peer-reviewed articles)
▪ Theoretical Framework
Part 2: Methodology
▪ Context, population, sample, sampling procedures
▪ Philosophical orientation and Research paradigm; justification
▪ Research approach (design-based) and provide a justification for choices.
▪ Methods of data collection and analysis that will be adopted – justification
▪ Measures that will be adopted, and their validity, reliability and/or trustworthiness ▪ Ethical issues and a plan to address those issues in the research
▪ Limitations of the study
▪ Design Principles and the intervention
Part 3: References and Appendices
▪ Completed reference section and appendices
▪ Consent form is included in the Appendix
▪ APA 6th edition format followed for all in-text citations and references
