State Assessment and Recommendation Project
Choose a state in the United States for which you will evaluate the sexual health of its residents. Research the following data for that state:
Rates of STIs in that state, and how this state compares to the US
Teen birth rates in that state, and how this state compares to the US
State policies related to sexuality education in public schools
Availability of reproductive health care for low-income people in that state, such as Title X funded clinics and abortion providers
Any other information about sexuality you’d like to find about that state
Based on your research, decide on at least three recommendations you have for state leaders, including policies or laws related to school sexuality education and/or health care access and availability, that will positively impact sexual health for residents in that state. You will need to provide the rationale for your recommendations in the form of evidence-based research. You may use sources that were assigned as readings for this class, or find others on your own. A list of approved and helpful sites are below. Then choose one of the following options for how you will present your research and recommendations.
Write a paper to present your findings and recommendations. The paper must be no more than 3 pages (not including title page and references) and be written following APA format, including in-text citations and a reference page.
