Select a medium (such as online tool, a book that may have repetition and visuals, a video clip, a dialogue, a teacher created material, etc) and a topic of interest to teach a concepts to ELs. For example, I may select a video clip of a place-and ask students to write/ describe what they saw; then I can ask them to use past tense of all the verbs that they used. For teaching about foreshadowing for HS students one may use this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aw0uORumRts. You may also select a digital tool from the list included to teach a concept. For example to create a visual of words that relate one may use visuwords. com. To retell a story one may use Storyboard That. To teach idioms one may ask the students to draw their meaning instead of explaining it. To learn the rules of formulas one may create a mnemonic device or a song (Flocabulary)
Once you select your topic/concept to teach ELs than identify the medium/tool and submit it. Write a description of how will you effectively teach a concept with the selected tool.
