Best way to reduce inventory cost would be to reduce capital cost which would ultimately reduce the storage cost as well, best way to do this would be to implement a JIT inventory/ shipping system to eliminate inventory costs which would ultimately reduce storage costs
More DC would result in higher costs across the board but it would be better to keep up with increased demand and expanding business would be able to implement more ways of transportation than focusing on (railways, trucks, airline whatever ACME chooses as main mode) increased cost in trucking, storage, and a major increase in risk cost.
