Reading Response #4 Question
Graphic novels present an interesting and different challenge from the
other readings that we’ve had this semester. With the exception of the brief
look at the spoken word poetry, all of our other readings have been exclusively
text-based, whereas in The Outside Circle, we must engage not only
the images, but the connection between text and image as well. Using an example
page/panel from The Outside Circle, detail a multi-step process of
how you would go about analyzing it. Keep in mind the methods of evaluation
that we learned at the start of class. This also gives you a chance to practice
citations, so I expect a works cited list at the end!
